Dear Chris Foster,
I am you from the future. I am writing you this letter to give you some advice for the future and also give you an idea of the future. You face many problems and I know if I were you (Which I am), I would want some help tackling these obstacles. Hopefully my letter will be of benefit to you.
First I want to tell you about the problems you will encounter while you’re a child. Your biggest obstacle you will face is the Lansing School District. You will attend Lansing Schools from Kindergarten to 6th Grade. I want to warn you that the Lansing School District has many educational flaws. The students are the worst of your problems. The students are bullies. The students will cause you immense pain. There will be a point where you are so stressed about bullies, that you fake illnesses to stay home. Even though it sounds bad, it might be good that it happened. The bullying causes your parents to have you move schools. You’ll transfer to Bath High School and life will significantly improve. You’ll meet tons of great friends and accomplish goals you never thought you had. Your life will be great as long as you persevere through elementary school.
After leaving Lansing schools there are a few bits of advice that could come in handy. Strive for good grades. During my freshman year, I gave up on trying to get good grades in school. Now, its biting me in the ass. Don’t give up on school just to play Xbox or watch movies. Even if you do try you will still have enough time to enjoy your home life. Diet and work out. I started working out during the summer between 9th and 10th grade. But, I sadly, gave up. Don’t give up on working out. It will be good for you, and it also will negate you having to restart your diet in senior year and failing multiple times. Don’t worry, be happy. Throughout your life depression will plague you. Don’t give into the depression. Work your hardest towards happiness and it will be achieved. I know you have tons of goals, and reaching them will increase your happiness. STRIVE FOR THOSE GOALS.
I hope the tips i’ve provided will help you excel in life. Use these tips to boost your confidence or change the future. Whatever you decide, you’ll choose the right path. There truly is no wrong path. Who knows maybe you’ll follow the same path I did. Maybe that's the correct path. Who knows? (P.S. don’t date during your sophomore year… that's truly not the correct path.. Trust me)
-Sincerely,
Chris Foster

Dear Chris Foster,
I am you from the past. There are a few things I would like to ask you about my future. I know you will be able to answer them because you have already experienced what I will soon. If you can answer my question in any way possible that would be great.
“How many of my dreams become reality” is my biggest question. As you know, I daydream of a happy future regularly. How many of my day dreams end up being true? Do I get married? Do I move to Oregon? Do I go to Oakland University? These are primarily the only dreams I care for you to answer, but if you want, you can still tell me other important events that transpire throughout my life. For instance, let me know if I have kids.
Could you also give me some advice for my future? I’ll shortly be an adult, and will have to make decisions without the help of my parents. I’m very apprehensive about going to college and moving out and working. It would really be a help if you gave me pointers that I can keep in mind while making important decisions. I know you are (hopefully) wiser than the me.
I have one piece of advice for you. Don’t forget the good times you had as a kid. Always remember high school and the friends you made. They’ll always be apart of your life. No matter your situation you will always have your memories. Don’t let go of these memories. Don’t forget where you came from and the people you met on your adventure through life. Never forget your family, friends or acquaintances because they’ve all taught you valuable life lessons. Stay humble Chris Foster.
I hope your life ended up good. I’ll try my hardest to make it good. And if it wasn’t good, always remember you can change your life for the better……
Sincerely,
Chris Foster
