Week 5 Reflection!
What new information have I learned from these assignments?
-I have furthered my vocabulary (Learned new words)
-I have learned that poems don't need to follow the typical writing styles
-I learned that too much description can ruin a piece of writing
What did I learn about myself the last few weeks?
-I learned that i'm not as bad as writing as I thought
-I learned that throwing some music on and writing is surprisingly soothing
-I'm not completely horrible at writing
What surprised me about what I learned?
-The fact that long descriptions are bad for writings (I never thought about how not giving much description allows creativity in the reader's mind)
How quickly was I able to finish this work?
-I finish my work fairly quickly (The only exception is the essay which i've been editing and making changes to everyday)
Where were my roadblocks?
-I used words, in my papers, that make me seem unintelligent
-I am really bad with punctuation
-I have trouble focusing
How did I move through roadblocks or challenges?
-I use a thesaurus to adapt my vocabulary
-I use websites to check my punctuation
-I use music to funnel my focus onto my writing
Is my work adapted for the correct, appropriate audience?
Anyone can read my story, so yes
How closely did I follow the parameters of the assignment?
-As closely as I could (I wanted to make sure I was completing my assignments how they are meant to be completed, so I check the rubrics often
Using the grade rubric, how would I score my own work?
-Im still worried about my punctuation ability so 85%
What would the teacher say about my work?
I think the teacher would say my work is good. Not great, Not bad, but good.
If given the opportunity, one thing I would change about this assignment is …
Nothing... I like that we have quite a bit of time to write and edit our stories. I like that I can work by myself as well.
How does my work compare to what my classmates did on this assignment?
I say that my work is pretty good.. It seems to be on par or better then most of my classmates.
Does my work truly reflect my effort?
I say it does. I hope so... I've tried harder on this essay then any other writing project in highschool.
Have I achieved the goal I set for myself with this assignment?
No.. I feel like there are still some things that I need to work on. But I am making progress on bettering my writing.
What would I do differently next time, if given the chance?
Choose a different writing subject. I feel like i've told this Chicago story before, but I don't fully remember if I did. Also my stories are always really similar.
Am I proud of my work?
I'm kind of indifferent... I want to be proud of it, but I feel like I still could do better
